‘Crypto is darker than garbage’: Dave Ramsey

  • “Crypto is merchandise and currency”
  • “Sadder than shit”

David Lawrence Ramsey III, an American radio personality (The Ramsey Show), financial commentator and founder of Ramsey Solutions, has criticized cryptocurrencies, saying that it can be more legitimate in the future but not now.

He also admitted that Crypto is a currency, but digital, that he does not speak of Bitcoin or Ethereum, but crypto in general. However, his opinion about cryptography is quite mixed since it puts the game, basic products, cryptographic and fiduciary coins in the same boat when talking about it.

“Crypto is merchandise and currency”

In a video extract posted by the @DiscoverCrypto_ X, David Ramsey is talking during a recent Ramsey show and is answering questions of the coanfrerion about his opinion about Crypto.

His opinion on cryptocurrency in general seems quite mixed, since although he believes it is a digital currency, it still refers to it as a game tool and a fetish.

While answering the questions of his coanfrerion, Ramsey said he does not believe that Crypto is a proven investment, since he considers it a merchandise, such as gold or oil. He pointed out that he does not buy oil platforms either. Ramsey said: “It will not be a proven investment, because it is a merchandise. Basic products are never a proven investment.”

He said not much play when asked about the purchase of cryptography. He then declared that Crypto is a coin and prefers not to invest in that, as if he does not invest in the Japanese yen or the Deutsche brand (now Germany and the entire EU uses the euro). According to Ramsey, Fiat coins have a long history, but Crypto is also a digital currency with a short history. In the future, he admitted, Crypto can become more legitimate when he has a longer history.

But so far, “they are all the great children who do stupid things.” He compared investing in cryptography to invest in emus, the elegant Australian birds, instead of in cattle, which in the past was considered a great investment. In addition, people want to look great, so they are losing money, said Ramsey, calling Crypto a fetish.

He concluded his anticrypto diatriba by saying that cryptography is “silly than garbage.”
