Bitcoin’s mining difficulty has once again reached a new historical maximum. This time, it has shot over 136 billion, indicating greater activity among the miners.
According to data in the Blockchain Cryptoquant analysis chain, the mining difficulty of the network has constantly increased since mid -July.
Minera difficulty increases
The mining difficulty of Bitcoin is a measure of how difficult it is for miners to solve cryptographic puzzles and validate new blocks. The objective is to complete the creation of the Bitcoin block in approximately 10 minutes, ensure the decentralized network and guarantee a sustainable creation of new BTC currencies.
However, the mining difficulty increases when the blocks are extracted too fast. On the contrary, it decreases every time the blocks are extracted too slowly. This adjustment occurs after every 2,016 blocks, which are often completed within two weeks.
According to the table below, the last time Bitcoin’s network saw a decrease in mining difficulty was July 10, when approximately 116.95 billion fell. Since then, he has been on an ascending streak.
Bitcoin mining competition is heated
The last peak seen in the Bitcoin difficulty table indicates that more miners have joined the car with advanced mining platforms. In this way, they have the opportunity to gain more BTC of their mining operations.
The hashrate record of the blockchain shows an increase in miners activity. For the context, Bitcoin hashrate refers to the computer power that miners use to process transactions. Cryptoquant’s current data show a 1,041 billion hash. In particular, this is the highest value that hashrate has seen since August 29.
In recent months, several Bitcoin mining companies have diverted their attention to the Ethereum Network. With some new players that bind to Bitcoin’s mining ecosystem, the current record shows that more miners are joining the ecosystem.
As the Bitcoin network experiences a substantial increase in its mining difficulty, its price is also witnessing a slight increase. According to Coinmarketcap, BTC was quoted at $ 11,000 at the time of writing, a 3% increase in the last seven days.
